"After our first session with Kerry, my husband and I agreed that we had put ourselves in very good hands. Kerry is smart, insightful, compassionate and engaging. She creates a safe environment that allows us to explore our most vulnerable issues and our deepest shadows. With her guidance, wisdom, and practical exercises, we managed to stabilize our relationship quickly and embark on a journey that is bringing us closer to each other...and to our highest selves."

My Approach

Therapy does not need to be mysterious in order to work. It is important that you leave my office feeling as though real change is happening as a result of our time together. My approach to helping make this possible includes the following:

  • Down-to-earth
  • Open-minded
  • Creative
  • Interactive therapy: I encourage back-and-forth conversation with an aim at trying on new perspectives, and setting attainable goals.
  • I believe in humor, because laughter can sometimes make even the most difficult situations bearable.

My Background

I am an experienced psychotherapist licensed by The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Allied Mental Health and Human Services Board, with a specialization in mental health counseling.

As part of my licensure requirements I adhere to the laws and regulations of the State Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Service Professions. I also participate in ongoing professional study and development in order to maintain my license.

As a Mental Health Counselor I practice according to nationally mandated Standards of Practice that include:

  • A Code of Professional Ethics
  • Standards for Education & Training
  • Standards for Professional Conduct of Practice
  • Standards for Licensure and Certification

I received my Master's Degree from the Department of Applied Psychology at Antioch New England Graduate School in 1999, and have been working in the field of Mental Health since 1991. During these 20 years I have worked in a wide range of settings including hospitals, clinics, schools, nursing homes, crisis and respite care, and private practice.

I am passionately engaged in a life-long process of expanding my skills as a therapist through continued education/training, participating in ongoing peer and individual consultation, and staying up-to-date on the current literature, research and changes in the field of psychotherapy. This allows me to bring a variety of approaches and techniques that have been shown to be most effective, and to offer you a "menu" of options when deciding how to best approach your problems.
