About Us…
Kerry Lusignan, MA, LMHC
- Director/Founder
- Certified Gottman Therapist
Kerry Lusignan holds a Master's from the Department of Applied Psychology at Antioch New England Graduate School, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and has over 20 years of experience in the field of mental health. In 2002 she opened her first private practice in Northampton and in 2009 began dedicating her practice exclusively to the treatment of couples in distress. The Northampton Center for Couples Therapy was founded in 2010 based on what she saw as a strong need in the community for highly trained couples therapists who could work with couples in crisis. Couples have traveled from as far away as Boston, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Vermont to receive treatment from her in stabilizing and healing their relationship.
Additionally, Kerry is one of approximately 130 Certified Gottman Method Couples Therapists in the world. Gottman certification requires intensive training and clinical experience treating couples, advanced training with Dr. John Gottman, and documented video-supervised clinical hours by a Senior Gottman Method Couples Therapist. In order to become certified, all Gottman Therapists have their work independently reviewed by The Gottman Institute, and go through a final rigorous application process.
