John Hallock

Mental Health Counselor

“Ironically, what originally got me into couples therapy was working as a divorce mediator for 10 years. That was so hard. As much as I enjoyed talking to people and drawing them out, gaining their trust and helping them work towards an agreement, I always felt I would SO much rather be helping people stay together than split up.”

John can come off as laid-back and easy going, but his self-deprecating style hides a deep compassion and curiosity. John has a gift for putting people at ease, and lets his clients know they can trust him to be there for them when things get hard. While he has a particular passion in helping couples avoid divorce and see things through, John has gathered a variety of experience from community mental health, men’s groups, inpatient care, and owning and managing a local record store.
