Building Relational Intelligence

Do you find it hard to communicate effectively when you feel emotional? Do you struggle to speak up if something hurts your feelings? Do you easily shut down or get defensive? Does the idea of conflict scare or overwhelm you? Then this group is for you.

BRI is a therapeutic group that teaches you skills to enhance your personal relationships. Using in-the-moment experiences, we work on increasing your ability to communicate effectively, take accountability, and show up emotionally.

Each week, we will explore different aspects of relational intelligence based on the research and teachings of experts in the field, such as John and Julie Gottman, Esther Perel, Bret Atkinson, Brene Brown, Sue Johnson, Pema Chodron, and Dr. Becky Kennedy.

As a member of this group, you will learn how to:

  • Build self-awareness
  • Identify thoughts, feelings, and desires
  • Respond versus react
  • Recognize how your early relationships impact your current connections
  • Apply tools for navigating conflict
  • Speak up productively and listen compassionately
  • Engage vulnerably
