Yvonne Cordoba, MSW, LICSW

NCCT sex therapy consultant

She/her

“For me, it all comes down to curiosity. On the one hand, life is traumatic, horrendous, and full of suffering. On the other, there is awe, graciousness, wildness, and beauty. There were times in my life that I fell into despair, but curiosity is what kept me going. Curiosity for the beauty of the human condition, curiosity for understanding ourselves, and curiosity for understanding our relationship to others.”

Yvonne specializes in addressing sexuality related concerns, e.g. gaps in desire, pain during sex, sexual trauma, erectile difficulties, anorgasmia, etc. She has a background in somatics, wilderness therapy, group therapy, and addiction counseling. Her approach is trauma-informed, patient-centered, and leans on the wisdom of the physical body to navigate the work. Her work prioritizes creating a space for the inner/abstract AND outer/social worlds to meet – understanding that both the personal world and the external social fabric we reside in comprise a couple. To be explicit: LGBTQAI+, BIPOC, and ethically non monogamous couples are most welcome.

Ask me about: Transnational dance, true crime podcasts, hot yoga, or my dogs.

Ever since I was young, I’ve been: In search of the perfect tacos. Waiting for the next good belly laugh. Daydreaming about perfecting my garden.

Favorite kind of couples: Those that are willing to reach for their own edges without shying away from discomfort. They are willing to risk vulnerability in front of their partners and with themselves. But let’s not forget, most importantly, those in pursuit of deepening their sense of friendship, play, and humor as well.
